Calvert Investment Management, Inc.

As investment advisor to the Calvert family of funds, Calvert Investment Management, Inc. oversees more than $12.5 billion in assets covering a broad range of equity, fixed-income, balanced, and asset allocation funds. Calvert Investment Management, Inc.'s Equities Department is responsible for evaluating and supervising the firm's equity sub-advisors—premier firms that have been carefully chosen for their expertise in their areas of specialization. Calvert Investment Management, Inc.'s Equities Department also oversees all of Calvert's equity and asset allocation funds.

Yvonne BishopYvonne Bishop assists in the management of several of Calvert's equity portfolios. Prior to joining Calvert she was an assistant portfolio manager for Summit Investment Advisors, Inc. (previously Summit Investment Partners). Ms. Bishop has worked in the investment industry since 1990, and has an M.B.A. from Xavier University and a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Cincinnati.

 

James McGlynnJames R. McGlynn, CFA (BBA Finance) manages several of Calvert's equity portfolios. Prior to joining Calvert, he was the lead portfolio manager for Summit Everest Fund since its inception in 1999. He has 30 years of experience in large-cap value equity analysis and fund management, including nine years at Summit Investment Advisors, Inc. and eight years at Tom Johnson Investment Management.

 

Natalie Trunow is Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Equities and is responsible for leading, managing, proactively evaluating and monitoring the investment performance and risk/reward characteristics of Calvert's sub-advised equity, balanced, and asset allocation products. She also leads the firm in in-house equity management, new product development and implementation. Ms. Trunow has more than 20 years of experience in global financial markets. Prior to joining Calvert in 2008, Ms. Trunow was a Section Head and a Portfolio Manager in the global markets group at General Motors Asset Management in New York where she developed and managed successful in-house investment strategies in global alternatives and domestic small cap as well as alpha-generating, style-balanced funds of funds of institutional money managers. Earlier in her career, Ms. Trunow consulted with the New York law firm of Owen & Davis and Price Waterhouse in New York. Natalie graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from NYU and holds an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.

Advisory Research, Inc.

ARI was founded in 1974 and is based in Chicago. The firm manages primarily domestic and international equity portfolios. ARI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Piper Jaffray & Co. but operates independently.

Jonathan P. Brodsky serves as a managing director of the firm. Prior to joining ARI, he served a non-political appointment in the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs. Jonathan began his career in finance as an investment banker for J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. Jonathan holds a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. and J.D. from Northwestern University. Jonathan is proficient in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

Drew Edwards serves as a vice president of the firm. Prior to joining ARI, he was an investment professional at Taiyo Pacific Partners, an activist fund backed by CalPERS and W. L. Ross that focuses on Japanese equities. Previous to Taiyo, he worked as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and as a finance executive in the healthcare industry. Drew holds a B.A. in International Business from Sophia University (Tokyo) and an M.B.A. and J.D. from Northwestern University. Drew is proficient in Japanese.

Marco P. Priani, CFA, CPA, FRM serves as a vice president of the firm. Prior to joining ARI, he worked for more than ten years as a partner in the corporate bankruptcy firm of Priani, Claps & Caamaño in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also worked as a risk manager intern for Deutsche Postbank in Bonn, Germany. Marco holds a J.D. from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, an M.A. in Law and Finance from the Universidad del CEMA, an M.B.A. in Analytic Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago, and an LLM from the Northwestern University School of Law. Marco is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian, German, French and Portuguese.

Atlanta Capital Management Company, LLC

Atlanta Capital Management applies a High-Quality-Growth-Plus process to large-cap investing. Established in 1969, Atlanta Capital combines top-down macroeconomic analysis with bottom-up fundamental analysis to identify high-quality growth companies with a long-term record of superior earnings. Atlanta Capital examines long-term economic, demographic, and political trends to identify high-quality companies in growth-oriented areas. Top-down research into sectors benefiting from heightened demand, improved pricing power or higher productivity is complemented by bottom-up, company-specific research.

Richard B. England (BS, MBA, CFA) has 20 years of equity analysis and fund management experience. After previously working for Aetna Equity Investors, he was a Portfolio Manager at Putnam Investments in Boston before moving to Atlanta Capital in 2004. He has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and a BS in business administration from the University of Florida.


Kleinwort Benson Investors International Ltd (formerly KBC)

Kleinwort Benson Investors International Ltd is a leading Dublin-based SRI firm whose principals have expertise in the fast-growing, nascent alternative energy sector, a long history of socially responsible investing, and a strong reputation in multi-cap global investing. Kleinwort Benson Investors International Ltd has one of the longest track records of any manager in alternative energy assets. The firm uses a combination of quantitative and fundamental investment processes to evaluate potential investments. Top-down views on industries, sectors, or regions act as risk controls, while a fair-value target model may be used to help determine the purchase or sale of a stock.

Jens Peers (CFA) is the lead Portfolio Manager of Calvert Global Alternative Energy Fund and Calvert Global Water Fund. Mr. Peers joined KBC Bank in 1998 and KBI in 2003. He holds a Licentiate (equivalent to a master's degree) in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.

 

 

Treasa Ni Chonghaile is a secondary Portfolio Manager for the Calvert Global Alternative Energy Fund. She joined KBI in 1999. Ms. Ni Chonghaile earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Computing, and Enterprise from Dublin City University in Ireland. She also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the U.K. Society of Investment Professionals.

 

Catherine Ryan is a portfolio manager of Calvert Global Water Fund and of Environmental Strategies at KBI. Ms. Ryan joined the Environmental Strategies team in 2008, moving from managing KBI's Irish equity portfolios. She previously worked at Seneca Capital Management in San Francisco and Pilot View Capital in Ireland. Ms. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Dublin City University.

 

Matthew Sheldon joined the Environmental Strategies team at Kleinwort Benson Investors International, Ltd. as a portfolio manager in April 2011. He has extensive specialist knowledge and experience in investing in the water sector, including both global public equities and private equity. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sheldon worked at Water Asset Management, where he was an Investment Analyst, and at Wedge Capital Management, where he was an Equity Analyst. Mr. Sheldon graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, and is a CFA charter holder.

 

Martin Currie Investment Management, Ltd.

James Fairweather, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Team  is the ultimate decision maker for Martin Currie’s international and global strategies. He will be the lead portfolio manager for the Fund. Mr. Fairweather was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 1997, having been deputy CIO for Martin Currie since 1994. He is responsible for the company’s investment strategy and the management of its global products. Mr. Fairweather is also a main board director and a member of Martin Currie's executive management committee. He joined Martin Currie in 1984 and has been a constant member of its global equities team since arrival. Mr. Fairweather previously worked in eurobond sales with Kleinwort Benson, and as an institutional sales and economics assistant with Montague Loebl Stanley & Co. Mr. Fairweather has 29 years of investment experience.

David Sheasby, Director, Global and International Products joined Martin Currie in 2004 as a director in the global team. He is lead portfolio manager for the EAFE ADR strategy, co-manager of global portfolios, and supports James Fairweather in managing the global ex-US portfolios. Before coming to Martin Currie, Mr. Sheasby worked for Aegon Asset Management (formerly Scottish Equitable) for 18 years. Beginning in 2002, he was a senior portfolio manager for global equities and developed and directed Aegon’s global strategy. During his time with Aegon, Mr. Sheasby headed their global equity, emerging markets and European teams. He was also a European portfolio manager from 1987-1994, having joined the company two years previously. Mr. Sheasby has 23 years of investment experience.

Christine Montgomery, Director, International Products Ms. Montgomery has 20 years’ experience in global equity markets. She joined Martin Currie from Edinburgh Partners, where she was an investment partner, responsible for managing segregated institutional accounts totalling US$742 million. Before this, Ms. Montgomery was global equities fund manager at Franklin Templeton Investments, where she managed over US$3 billion on segregated institutional portfolios. Ms. Montgomery started her career at Aegon Asset Management. During her twelve years with Aegon, her roles included head of equities and deputy CIO. Ms. Montgomery has experience managing SRI portfolios.

New Amsterdam Partners LLC

Founded in 1986 and 100 percent employee-owned, New Amsterdam Partners applies a growth-at a-reasonable price investment strategy and a proprietary, dynamic valuation model. The manager combines rigorous quantitative and fundamental analyses in a highly transparent and disciplined investment process that seeks to capitalize on security mispricings in the market. Initial eligibility screens include completeness of accounting data, trading liquidity, and expected return analysis.

Michelle Clayman (BA/MA, MBA, CFA) is the founder, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of New Amsterdam. She holds a BA/MA from Oxford University and an MBA from Stanford University. 

 

 

Nathaniel Paull (CFA), Partner & Senior Portfolio Manager, received a BS in Business Administration magna cum laude from the University of Hartford in 1984 and an MBA from New York University in 1988.  From 1987 to 1995, he worked as an Equity Portfolio Manager and Derivative Securities Analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. From 1984 to 1986, he worked as a Financial Analyst for United Technologies Corporation.  Mr. Paull has been a conference speaker and has been quoted in a variety of publications.  Mr. Paull is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.

Profit Investment Management

Profit Investment Management was founded in 1996 and is based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The firm manages primarily large-cap, U.S. equity portfolios and serves a diverse range of institutional and retail clients. Profit Investment Management pursues a valuation-sensitive, growth investing approach to identify stocks with rapid earnings expansion that may be mispriced relative to their fundamentals.

Eugene Profit is the founder, chief executive officer, and chief investment officer of Profit Investment Management (PIM).  Mr. Profit is an equity portfolio manager for Calvert Balanced Portfolio and has more than 18 years of experience in asset management. A former National Football League player, Mr. Profit holds a BA in economics from Yale University.

 


Summit Investment Advisors, Inc.

Summit Investment Advisors, Inc.,  a UNIFI Company, manages nearly $10 billion in assets with specialties in the commercial mortgage, real estate, private equity, index, and fixed income areas. Thornburg Investment Management

Connor Browne, CFA, Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager, manages the Thornburg International Equity Strategy. His responsibilities include portfolio management, research, and analyzing companies for consideration in the Thornburg equity strategies. He is responsible for evaluating existing positions and overall fund performance. Connor joined Thornburg Investment Management in August of 2001. Connor graduated Cum Laude from Princeton University with a BA in Economics and a certificate in Finance.

Bill Fries, CFA, Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager  is currently responsible for Thornburg International Equity Strategy and the Thornburg Domestic Equity Strategy. Mr. Fries joined Thornburg in 1995 as managing director and founding portfolio manager of the Thornburg Value Fund and subsequent Domestic Equity Strategy. In 1998, he also founded the Thornburg International Value Fund and subsequent International Equity Strategy. Furthermore, he developed the three bucket approach, which has been used in these strategies at Thornburg since inception. His responsibilities include portfolio management and analysis of companies as well as evaluation of existing positions and overall equity strategy performance. Mr. Fries began his career as a securities analyst and bank investment officer. His investment management experience includes an extended tenure as vice president of equities at USAA Investment Management Company. Mr. Fries has 39 years of investment experience.

Edward Maran , CFA,Managing Director and co-portfolio manager, manages the Thornburg International Equity Strategy. His responsibilities include portfolio management and analyzing companies. Ed is also responsible for evaluating existing positions and overall portfolio performance. Ed joined Thornburg Investment Management in 2002. Prior to joining Thornburg, Ed was the analyst with primary responsibility for the financial services stocks at USAA Investment Management Company. He has also worked as a financial analyst at British Petroleum, as a private equity investment analyst at Kling, Rechter & Co., and as the senior analyst covering major oils at A.G. Edwards & Sons. Ed received a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.

Wendy Trevisani, Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager manages the Thornburg International Equity and ADR Strategies. Her responsibilities include portfolio management and analysis of companies as well as evaluation of existing positions and overall equity fund performance. Ms. Trevisani joined Thornburg as an associate portfolio manager in 1999, and was named managing director in 2003. She was promoted to co-portfolio manager in 2006. Prior to joining Thornburg, Ms. Trevisani began her investment career as an institutional sales and trading representative for Salomon Smith Barney in both New York City and London. Ms. Trevisani received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Columbia University and graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree in International Relations from Bucknell University. While at Columbia, Ms. Trevisani interned with Bill Fries at Thornburg. Ms. Trevisani has 13 years of investment experience.

Lei “Rocky” Wang, CFA, Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager,  manages the Thornburg International Equity Strategy. His primary responsibilities at Thornburg include portfolio management and analyzing companies. He is also responsible for evaluating existing positions and overall portfolio performance. Mr. Wang joined Thornburg in 2004 as an associate portfolio manager and in 2006 was promoted to co-portfolio manager for the International Equity Strategy and was also elected managing director. Prior to joining Thornburg, Mr. Wang served as an associate for Deutsche Bank as well as Enso Capital Management. He has also worked as a bank supervision manager at China’s central bank. Mr. Wang holds a BA and an MA from East China Normal University and an MBA from New York University. While at NYU, Mr. Wang interned with Bill Fries at Thornburg. Mr. Wang has 9 years of investment experience.

Trilogy Global Advisors, LP

Founded in 1999, Trilogy is based in New York City. Trilogy manages global, international, and emerging-markets equities and is an affiliate of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc.

Greg Gigliotti is responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management of Trilogy’s client portfolios. Greg joined Trilogy from Iridian Asset Management, where he was a managing director. Previously, Greg was a vice president and senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he co-managed a $7 billion series of mutual funds and institutional accounts. Greg also worked at Franklin Mutual Advisors (formerly the Mutual Series Funds) as a vice president and senior analyst and was a member of the investment team led by Michael Price. He has a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Connecticut College.

World Asset Management, Inc.

World Asset Management, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Comerica Incorporated, has been a leader in indexing for more than 20 years. Eric R. LessnauEric R. Lessnau
Mr. Lessnau is a member of the Domestic Investment Management Team, providing analytical and trading support for the domestic equity funds. He began his career with Comerica Bank in 2000 as an Investment Bank Analyst in Institutional Trust. In 2003 he moved to Comerica Securities Institutional Sales where he was a Senior Analyst in Institutional Sales Operations. Mr. Lessnau joined World Asset in January 2008. He holds a B.S. in corporate finance from Central Michigan University and an M.S.F. from Walsh College.
