Calvert Investments among the 2014 Alliance for Workplace Excellence Annual Award Winners
August 08, 2014 /// Bethesda, MD /// Calvert Investments wins this year’s Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) Awards in all four categories: Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, Health & Wellness Seal of Approval, EcoLeadership, and Diversity Champion Award. This is the 15th consecutive year Calvert has received the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval.

This year marks the 15th year that AWE has recognized excellence in the workplace. The 66 award–winning companies represent approximately one million employees from organizations of all sizes and in all sectors from across the United States.

The 'Workplace Excellence' Seal of Approval recognizes visionary employers that view workplace excellence as a strategic business imperative. This Seal of Approval acknowledges that these leaders are paving the way toward building workplaces where employees are able to achieve success in all aspects of their professional and personal lives while enhancing the business bottom-line. Applicants undergo a comprehensive evaluation process in order to be considered for these awards. The winners demonstrate outstanding commitment to balanced leadership and the overall success of their workforce. Applicants are assessed in the following categories: Innovative Corporate Culture and Management Practices; Family and Employee Friendly Policies and Programs; Strong Health and Wellness Initiatives; Growth and Learning Opportunities; Employee Growth and Learning Opportunities; Commitment to Corporate, Social and Civic Responsibility; Diversity and Inclusive Practices; Flexible Work Environment; and Safety and Security.
Calvert’s work-life program includes:
- Community Service–Up to twelve paid days off annually for community service leave
- Transportation and parking subsidies–subsidies for driving, taking public transportation, biking or walking to work
- Flexible work schedule–Offering flex time, and telecommuting
- Massage Therapy–Fifteen minute neck and back massage, free to employees
