Calvert’s Paul Hilton named to Social Investment Forum Board

November 5, 2009 ...Bethesda, MD Calvert, an investment firm and known leader in sustainable and responsible investing, announced today that Paul Hilton, Director of Advanced Equities Research at Calvert Asset Management Company, Inc., will be joining the board of the Social Investment Forum (SIF). 

Paul Hilton, Director of Advanced Equities ResearchHilton has worked in sustainable and responsible investing for his entire career, first at the non-profit Council on Economic Priorities, later at Wall Street investment firm Smith Barney and Dreyfus, and most recently at Calvert.  He has been a leader in the sustainable investment community and an active member of the Social Investment Forum.  In 2004, he co-founded the Sustainable Investment Research Analyst Network (SIRAN), a working group of SIF, and has worked on the SIF Trends Report, the Indigenous Peoples Working Group, and the SRI in the Rockies Agenda Committee.  

In joining the board, Hilton said, “Our work has never been more important, as we face issues ranging from the current global financial crisis to the upcoming green resources crisis.  This is an extraordinary opportunity to work with the board to leverage our collective voices to create truly sustainable global capital markets.”

At Calvert, Hilton’s main focus is on integrating environmental, social and governance factors into traditional financial analysis.  He is also a Treasurer of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI) and a former co-chair of its Asset Management Working Group.  Hilton serves on the board of Communities in Schools of the Nation’s Capital.  A CFA charterholder, Hilton has master’s degrees in anthropology and education.  He lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife Morgan and son Fenwyck.
