Calvert Enhanced Equity Portfolio (CMIFX) Renamed Calvert Large Cap Core Portfolio
New name reflects the Portfolio’s potential role in a diversified asset allocation plan and its active management strategy
2/1/2013
Effective January 31, 2013, Calvert Enhanced Equity Portfolio was renamed Calvert Large Cap Core Portfolio. Calvert Investments implemented the name change to both better reflect the Portfolio's potential role as a core holding in an investor's asset allocation plan and its active management strategy.
At the same time, the Portfolio's investment policy was slightly modified to reflect its emphasis on large-cap securities as follows:
- Prior Policy: The Portfolio will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets, including borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities (common stock).
- New Policy: The Portfolio will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets, including borrowings for investment purposes, in the equity securities (common stock) of large-capitalization companies.
The Portfolio defines large-cap companies as those that fall within the range of market capitalizations represented by the Russell 1000 Index. The Russell 1000 Index measures the performance of the 1,000 largest U.S. companies.
The Portfolio as Part of a Diversified Asset Allocation Strategy
The Portfolio's emphasis on large-cap, U.S. companies makes it an attractive potential core holding in a diversified portfolio. Investing primarily in common stock of large-cap, U.S. companies that meet its sustainability and financial investment criteria, the Portfolio uses quantitative, fundamental, and macroeconomic insights that are designed to identify stocks with the greatest potential to outperform the market.
What Has Not Changed
The Portfolio's name change and investment policy modification will not result in any material change in the way in which the Portfolio is managed. The existing investment process will not change and the Portfolio will still be classified in the Morningstar Large Blend and the Lipper Large Cap Core categories. Calvert Investment Management, Inc. remains the Portfolio's investment advisor, with Natalie Trunow, chief investment officer, equities, continuing to manage the Portfolio on a day to day basis.

Investment Risk
Investment in mutual funds involves risk, including possible loss of principal invested. You could lose money on your investment in the Portfolio or the Portfolio could underperform because of the following risks: The market prices of stocks held by the Portfolio may fall and/or the Portfolio's management practices may not achieve the desired result. Large-cap companies may be unable to respond quickly to new competitive challenges such as changes in technology, and also may not be able to attain the high growth rate of successful smaller companies, especially during extended periods of economic expansion.
